007 Agent Under Fire

Many people compare this game to GoldenEye for the N64. This is because some of 007AUF's best ideas do come from GoldenEye, like driving a tank across the streets. This game has twelve action packed levels, and over twenty hilarious weapons! There are also some rather sexy women, aswell so dont worry! On some levels, you get the chance to drive cars, equipped with rockets and machine guns, of course. This is a must for all shoothing game fans!

EGA report card.

Overall grade: B+

+Good graphics
+Twenty weapons
+The ability to drive vehicles
-Only twelve levels

Dynasty Warriors 3

This game is totally amazing! There can be more than a hundred soldiers on screen! In this game, you get to choose who you want to play as from forty different characters, and then you have to choose which weapons and items you want, and then you go on the battlefield itself! The aim is to sucessfully kill the enemy leader. This is not as easy as it seems. On your way, you will encountor officers, and get loads of soldiers thrown at you. This game is definetly a must for eveyone who owns a PS2!

Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec

I'm a huge fan of the Gran Turismo series, and this game didn't let me down for a second. High speed cars, a couple new tracks, and an even deeper simulation mode. Most definately the greatest racing game to date.

There are a few flaws, but they were all intentional. For example, my only disappointment was the removal of about two-thirds of the cars from Gran Turismo 2. It would have been nice to keep all the cars around and update some, but the ones that were taken out weren't that good anyway. You don't really notice the lonliness in the car dealership after awhile.

The graphics are great, too. There isn't a game that even compares to the play and replay value this game offers. Just try to find a difference from television.

The sound is good, too. Snoop Dogg, Lenny Kravitz, Motley Crue, and many, many more. What more could one ask for. Well, I would have enjoyed some more STP, but I won't complain.

Overall, this game is great. A must have for any true racing fan. What's that? You say that the crashes aren't realistic? It's not a big deal. In my opinion, I'm glad that I don't get to see what my Escudo would really look like if I'd just driven it into a concrete rail going 250 mph.

Grand Theft Auto III

It's an honor to review this fine piece of work that Rockstar Games has developed. GTA3 is a brilliant game, and has been rewarded by numerous magazines for the gameplay, graphics, and lasting appeal. Simply put, GTA3 is arugueably the best game for the PS2.

In short, you play the roll of a nameless gentlemen who gets busted out of jail indirectly, work your way through different scenerios for different bosses, and track down the bitch of a girlfriend who doublecrossed you in the first place. (See: opening movie of GTA3)

The graphics are a bit cartoonish, but they look fantasic. GTA3 is a very violent game with realistic violence and sexual themes hence the Mature rating on the box. However, it's no worse than any mafia related movie you could rent. Beat people with bats, blow their brains out with an AK-47, or light 'em up with a flamethrower. Do it all, but, as in previous GTA games, be prepared for a police chase. Driving graphics are wonderful, too. Nothing like Gran Turismo III, but the driving looks too good to be just an Action game. Again, the driving could be better, but it gets the job done whenever you need to lose a tail.

Gameplay is fantastic, also. Freedom is what makes this game so good. The missions are great, but it's even better when you don't have to take another job as soon as you finish the previous one. I must have spent hours upon hours just driving around Portland, the first island, just to learn the streets. But when you're ready for another mission, it awaits you. All in all, the gameplay will keep you going for as long as you and your PS2 can handle it.

Sound is great, too. There are tunable radio stations already programmed into the game. Simply push your L1 button, and you can listen to anything from Raggae to Rock to an All-Talk radio station, the Chatterbox. Sound is magnificent and really couldn't have been better.

You will play this game for hours upon hours. That's not a lie either. There's no way around it. Sure, you could turn it off. Your God-given free will lets you do that, but you'll hear it calling your name. No joke. That's all I have to say about the addiction this game brings. The disclaimer has been written.

Overall, the game is incredible. Rockstar hit the nail on the head when GTA3 was released. It's everything anyone could want, and a whole lot we didn't know we wanted. Now, if it's okay with you, I'm going to grab my Louisville Slugger and go crack some skulls.

What the hell?! I guess it has to get an Overall of 10, too.

NBA Street

NBA Street is everything I hoped it would be... and more. I expected to play an arcade basketball game, but little did I know that it would be so addictive. I've had the game for quite a little bit now, and I still play hours of it on end. It's just so deep. Much, much deeper than it's predcessors, the NBA Jam series. NBA Jam lacks any depth whatsoever. Fans of that game fall in love immeditely with NBA Street.

The gameplay is pretty good. It's the same engine from the other EA Big games (SSX, SSX Tricky) so it's not too complicated to figure out. The point of the game is to link tricks such as crossovers with alley-oops or rim-shattering dunks. Once your gamegreaker meter gets high enough, by using two shoulder buttons (R1, L1, R2, L2) with a shot or dunk you can lower your opponets score by the same points your basket is worth hence gamebreaker being the term. Great for making your short-fused friends mad.

Graphics, as I said before are good. They could be better though. Players never actually swat the ball (and they do swat much, much more than in any other basketball game) and hands don't always tough the rim when Shaq and others throw one down. Good, but hopefully the sequel will be a little better.

Sound is good, too. Good hip-hop beat, but the announcer, Showtiime Joe, gets a bit annoying. He'll knock you when your game's off, and he'll hail you as the next savior when your on. If you get tired of him though, just turn down the announcer volume at the options screen.

You can play this game for hours. No need to be a true ball fanatic either. The gameplay and graphics are enough to keep one hooked from at least breakfast to brunch. I, on the other hand, happen to be a basketball freak and cannot, I repeat, cannot stop playing! My mother has threatened me with an asylum if I don't quit every once in awhile.

Gameplay: 9.5
Graphics: 9.5
Sound: 9.5
Lasting Appeal: 10

Overall Average: 9.6

Simpsons Road Rage

The goal of this game is to drive around Springfield, picking up passangers and taking them to their desired destination.
To complete the game, you have to get a million dollars. It's a bit like Crazy Taxi. Fans of The Simpsons will feel right at home when playing this game, because of the familiar locations. Although it's not quite the quality of Crazy Taxi, this game is very good.
EGA Report Card
